ETH morning update: rebound from $2,500 meets the cloud — October 8, 2026

BITSTAMP ETHUSD spot · October 8, 2026 · updated morning-session outlook
Evidence cutoff: 2026-10-08T14:21:11Z (10:21:11 a.m. EDT). Expires: 2026-10-08T16:30:00Z (12:30 p.m. EDT), or earlier if the observed structure is invalidated.

This morning edition is being published after the 9:30 a.m. US cash open with newly inspected evidence. The opening half hour tested $2,500, then closed at $2,519.9. A subsequent completed 15-minute rebound closed at $2,531.6. That is a recovery attempt beneath the observed intraday Washington cloud, not yet a completed cloud reclaim. The older pre-open draft has been replaced; its evidence is not used as the current cutoff.

Each completed bar was selected in the authenticated TradingView data window during 14:20–14:21 UTC. The 30m OEP V8 Washington upper/lower values were $2,590.7/$2,540.3, with outer bounds $2,592.9/$2,538.0. On the selected 15m bar they were $2,588.2/$2,539.4, with outer bounds $2,590.1/$2,537.5. Both selected bars showed Trend V2 direction −1 and Washington Cloud direction −1. The selected 4h and 1h Washington price plots were missing. The chart’s developing quote around $2,532.7 during the final inspection is separate from the completed 15m close of $2,531.6. The developing dashboard is not substituted for selected-bar evidence.

Conditional paths through the rest of the morning

Upside — reclaim, then hold. Completed 15m closes above the observed $2,537.5–$2,540.3 lower-cloud area, followed by a retest that holds, would strengthen the rebound beyond the opening range’s $2,537.2 high. A completed 30m close above the band would add support to a repair toward the completed 4h open/high at $2,566.8–$2,568.8. Only if that reference is also reclaimed does the observed upper-cloud area around $2,588.2–$2,592.9 become the next structural hurdle. These are sequential conditions, not guaranteed targets. Rejection below the lower-cloud band or renewed acceptance below $2,516.0 weakens this recovery case.

Base — contested stabilization below the cloud. If $2,516.0–$2,519.9 holds and rallies struggle near $2,532.8–$2,540.3, the evidence favors a rebound inside a still-fragile morning structure. The recovery from $2,500 improves immediate footing, while the completed hourly close below the completed 4h low of $2,525.4 shows that the earlier support did not hold through the opening hour. Acceptance and a holding retest above the lower-cloud band invalidate the range-first interpretation. Sustained loss of $2,516.0 invalidates its near-term support premise.

Downside — a failed rebound revisits the low. A completed 15m close below $2,516.0, followed by failure to reclaim $2,519.9, strengthens a retest of the observed $2,500 opening-hour low. A break below $2,500 that persists would show renewed pressure, but this inspection established no lower measured support; no extension target is invented. A rapid recovery of $2,519.9, then acceptance above $2,537.5–$2,540.3, weakens the downside case. A brief wick through support alone is insufficient confirmation.
